Killing
2009 · variable size · bamboo, branches
In the mountain infested by wild boars, I sharpened and assembled several bamboo spears in case of their intrusion. It turns out that the horrible beasts did not turn up, while the imaginary scene of a volley of spears frozen midair was preserved — the spear tips pointing at nothingness, at my fear, and at an imagined wild boar.
A year later, at the graduation exhibition of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, another version of Killing was presented as sharpened bamboo spears piercing the school's exhibition notice board — a declaration to myself: the walls of discipline can be pierced through by me.
