Landing in 3.5 Seconds

10 rebars of equivalent lengths commonly establish a seemingly time-suspended field as their various arcs caused by different stress conditions. The rebars are both independent and reflective, thus contributing to a narrative of temporality. The title of the work was a gift from a friend: it takes roughly 3.5 seconds for a viewer’s gaze to glide across any of the arcing rebars here. I love the intention carried by that non-integer 0.5 in the name — seemingly precise, yet incomplete — which accurately describes the instant precision and hesitation in our eyeball-measured perception.
