Sharpen Up, Solo Exhibition of Song Jianshu

On May 8, 2011, in 798 Art District, Chunchi Contemporary Art Space grandly launched Song Jianshu's first solo sculpture exhibition "Sharpen Up". Starting from 2009, Song Jianshu began to emphasize and explore the materials and things themselves in his works. This solo exhibition showcases his latest works after a significant shift in his creative thinking. Instead of imitating reconstruction, Song Jianshu selectively improves the presentation of materials, causing the collision and coexistence of the material itself and personal feelings.

Inspired by Sekine Nobuo's idea of "trying to hint the existence of nature itself in the real world," Song Jianshu "uses subtraction as a way of construction" to find the connection between the material essence and his own spiritual perception. Through his well-arranged and enjoyable steps, the audience will gradually witness the fusion of material and spirit.
